Solid Bronze Bushings: The most basic type, made from a solid piece of bronze. They are durable and cost-effective for many applications.
Lubricated Bushings: These have grooves and holes machined into them to allow grease to be distributed across the entire bearing surface. This is extremely common in cranes. You will find zerk fittings (grease nipples) on the crane's joints specifically to lubricate these bronze sleeves.
Graphite-Plug Bronze Bushings (Oil-Impregnated): These bushings have small plugs of solid graphite embedded in them. As the bushing operates, the graphite slowly transfers to the mating surface, providing a constant, self-lubricating film. This is useful for applications where regular greasing is difficult.
Flanged Bushings: These have a flange on one end to handle thrust loads in addition to radial loads.
