 The mechanical properties of copper castings are important indicators of the quality of most copper castings, and are often used as the basis for acceptance. However, it is difficult and often impossible to apply a casting to a load with exactly the same working conditions to determine its mechanical properties.

  In fact, in most cases, the mechanical properties of copper sleeve castings are measured by testing similar samples of castings, and then the mechanical properties of castings are inferred from the test results of samples.

  In order to evaluate the mechanical properties of castings correctly, it is very important to prepare samples and conduct accurate performance testing.

  There are three methods to test the mechanical properties of copper sleeve: tensile test, impact test and hardness test.

  1. Tensile test method

  Tensile test is one of the most important test items for mechanical properties of copper sleeve. When conducting tensile test, the tensile test method of standard metal GB/T9228-2002 should be generally adopted.

  2. Impact test method

  Impact testing is one of the mechanical properties that many copper sleeve castings (Shandong zinc-based alloy sleeves) need to be tested. When conducting impact test, it should generally be carried out at room temperature according to standard GB/T 229-1994 metal Charpy (U-notch) impact test method and GB/T 229-1994 metal Charpy (V-notch) impact test method.

  3. Hardness Testing Method

  Hardness test can test the hardness of copper sleeve castings, and reflect the chemical composition and structure of castings sensitively.

  The hardness of castings is usually tested as 00-1 hardness, Rockwell hardness, Vickers hardness, Shore hardness and Richter hardness. Hardness testing should generally conform to the standard GB/T 231.1-2002 metal Brinell hardness test method, GB/T 230-1991 metal Rockwell hardness test method, GB/T 4340.1-1999 metal 020-3 hardness test Part 1: test method, GB/T 4341-2001 metal Schottky hardness test method and GB/T 17394-1998 metal Richter hardness test method.
